Lube Price in Kenya: What You Really Pay, and How to Save
Water-based, silicone or oil, single bottle or bundle: a plain-English guide to getting the right lube at the right price.
In Kenya, a 50ml water-based lube like Slyd costs KES 1,000, and 5ml travel sachets cost KES 100 each (sold in packs of 5). The best value is the Slyd Bundle: one 50ml plus two sachets for KES 1,100, which is KES 100 less than buying them separately.
If you’ve ever stood at a pharmacy counter wondering why one lubricant costs twice as much as another, you’re not alone. The price on the shelf depends on three things: the type of lube, the size, and whether you buy a single item or a pack. Here’s how to make sense of it.
What decides the price of lube in Kenya
- Type. Water-based, silicone and oil-based lubricants are made differently and priced differently.
- Size. A bigger bottle usually costs less per use than single sachets.
- Packs and bundles. Buying a bottle and sachets together is often cheaper than buying them one by one.
Water-based, silicone or oil: what you get for your money
| Water-based | Silicone | Oil-based | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Condoms | Safe with all | Safe with most | Can weaken latex |
| Toys | Safe with all materials | Can damage silicone toys | Can damage many toys |
| Clean-up | Washes off with water | Needs soap | Can stain fabric |
Oil-based products are often the cheapest, but because they can weaken latex condoms they can be a false saving if protection matters to you. For most people, water-based is the easy everyday choice. Read more in our oil vs water-based guide.
Slyd prices: bottle, sachets or bundle

How to save on lube
- Buy the bundle. You get the bottle and two sachets for KES 100 less than buying them separately.
- Join Slyd Society. It’s free. Every order adds points, and three orders unlock 17% off your next order. Join here.
- Don’t buy cheap oil for condom use. If a condom fails, it costs far more than the price difference.
